Pacesetters German Shepherd Dog Display TeamThe Pacesetters Dog Display Team are a section within the Duston German Shepherd Dog Club.
About the Pacesetters German Shepherd Dog Display TeamDuring the summer months the Pacesetters tour around putting on dog displays for the public, and in the process raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind. To date the Pacesetters have raised over £40,000 for Guide Dogs. The displays given demonstrate the discipline, agility and courage of the German Shepherd Dog, along with the dedication and patience of the dogs' handlers in training them. Have a look at the Pacesetters photo gallery and see what these dogs are capable of. What you can expect when you book the Pacesetters Dog Display TeamThe display consists of Obedience and Agility with Fun items. The actual display takes approximately 40 minutes, the first half includes basic obedience exercises including retrieving various articles, followed by a selection of agility exercises and finishes with a spectacular fire display, showing the courage of the German Shepherd Dog. It is suggested that when organising a programme the PACESETTERS Dog Display Team are allocated an hour which covers setting up and clearing the ring, plus the actual display. There are approximately 12 handlers and dogs in the PACESETTER Dog Display Team, all the dogs are the handlers’ pet, some of which are re-homed, we have our own Commentator and kit people. The PACESETTERS work in a ring approximately 30yds (30mtrs) x 30yds (30mtrs) and need a holding area at the side of the vehicle access for the PACESETTERS Dog Display Team vehicle. The PACETTERS have their own P.A. system if necessary, which does not need a mains power supply. Organisers of Events are asked to reserve an area for the PACESETTERS Dog Display Team to park their cars, preferably in the shade – if possible. When attending a week-end event i.e. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, if camping facilities are available, some of the PACESETTERS Dog Display Team like to take their caravans/tents, this helps to cut down travelling expenses. It is helpful when confirming a booking if the organiser provides details of the venue i.e. either map postcode or written instructions. The PACESETTERS Dog Display Team arrive at the event at least an hour before they are scheduled to give their display. Details of charges are available when making a booking enquiry For more information and to book the Pacesetters Dog Display Team for your event in the Midlands, please contact: Marlene McInulty Tel: 01327 871290 Weedon Bec Fete 2010 - Pacesetters Testamonial Letter Click here to read letter |
